ONDO STATE TO SUSTAIN ONSLAUGHTS ON CRIMINALITY, SAYS AIYEDATIWA .

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has restated the resolve of the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON to sustain ongoing onslaughts on criminality in the Sunshine State.

Aiyedatiwa told participants while declaring open Security Summit for Traditional/Religious Leaders and Security Agencies held at Adolak Hotel Hall, Ore  in Odigbo Local Government on Monday.

He said Governor Akeredolu had made concerted efforts by investing heavily at ensuring peaceful and conducive State for both residents and investors in the State.

"We can say without any doubt that with the synergy between the Amotekun Corps and other Security architectures, the narratives about security issues in Ondo State are more salutary" , he said .

"The State Government has invested heavily in the protection of lives and properties.... save for one or two isolated security breaches like the unfortunate and condemnable Owo attack, Ondo State has been relatively safe, compared to other parts of the country". 

"We must therefore commend Mr Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, for providing purposeful leadership at this critical time" .

Aiyedatiwa further disclosed that, "the State is not taking a mono approach to insecurity, we are looking at both the effects and causes" .

"It is a holistic approach including the underlying socio-economic explanations for insecurity".

"While the government is making the State unsafe for criminal elements, tremendous efforts are also being made to tackle unemployment, poverty and social-disharmony" , he disclosed.

The Deputy Governor reiterated the determination of the State Government in addressing infrastructural gaps through the provision of social amenities like roads, health facilities, educational advancement, promotion of agriculture etc .

He equally applauded the organizer of the Security Summit for contributing to manpower development in the area of security.

The Security Summit was organised by Member, House of Representatives representing Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Mayowa Samuel Akinfolarin.
