365 DAYS OF CHANGING THE NARRATIVES, OUR SCORECARD

Yesterday made it a year that I took over the mantle of serviceship of our dear Local Council Development Area. I appreciate the Almighty God for finding us worthy of His mercy and benediction, and I pray may He never separate us from amongst his favorites.
I appreciate the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for finding me worthy of flying our party banner.
To all my political leaders, I appreciate you all, and most importantly, the good people of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area for electing me as your Chairman, this is a gesture I do not take for granted and will forever cherish.
As I pledged in my appreciation message after the polls a year ago, I might not know you all personally, but I owe you all and this is why I have not rested on my quest to further spread developments in our LCDA in the last one year.
In the last 365 days, we have been working our fingers to bone in order to change the Narratives of governance in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA as we promised, by providing purposeful leadership through intense engagement with critical stakeholders of our community.
We made it a point of duty from Day One not to leave any community behind in our projects and programmes, and we had kept to our word.
We have executed projects and programmes in the last one year, which impacted directly on our people aspirations, thus positioning our LCDA for greater prosperity.
As someone who lives amongst the people, I know where the shoe pinches, and we are taking steps to ameliorate these challenges one after the other. Coincidentally, the outcome of our engagement coincided with majority of what we had envisaged before we got to office and this informed the projects and programmes we have carried out.
In the last one year in office, our government has touched every facet of governance at the LCDA.
EDUCATION
We have made visible and tremendous efforts in this sector in the last one year. On assumption of office, as I toured our primary schools, I observed that, quite a handful of our pupils lack basic school materials, such as uniforms, books and writing materials, we instantly swung into action and the Anomo Complete School Pack Package was birthed.
The Anomo Complete School Pack package saw us handing out school uniforms, shoes, bags, books and writing materials to our pupils in the primary schools across the LCDA.
We did not rest on our oars by just providing these materials, we went further by procuring two school buses to convey our pupils to school and bring them back home after school.
Our pupils in secondary schools were not left out, we procured and distributed GCE forms for hundreds of them and gave out 200 JAMB forms to Indigent students.
We renovated Baptist Day Primary School, Agbowa and facilitated the ongoing construction of a block of 3-Classroom for RCM Primary School, Itoikin amongst others.

HEALTHCARE
We prioritized improved healthcare delivery hence our investment in the Health Sector for our people. Our government began the construction of a Primary Healthcare Centre, which is at 80% completion at Odo-Temu, one of the fastest growing community in the LCDA.
When it becomes operational, it will no doubt bring healthcare delivery to the doorsteps of the people of Odo-Temu and ameliorate the suffering of the people.
We have acquired two Ambulances, which are to serve as Mobile Clinics and will be deployed for monthly check-ups of our senior citizens once it is fully equipped.
We have also collaborated and facilitated different programmes, which have resulted in increased patronage of the Primary Healthcare Centres and an improvement in the general health condition of residents as reported by our Community Health Department.
SOCIAL INTERVENTION PROGRAMMES
We carried out social intervention programmes in order to cushion the effect of global economic hardship amongst our people and this was done through empowerment and endowment programmes.
We empowered about 200 youths through an intensive training programme in different skills and gave the most outstanding 50 participants training equipment, which will make them start a business of their own as soon as possible.
We also endowed 100 petty traders with cash gifts of N20,000 to support their business and also introduced the elderly welfare scheme known as “Itoju Awon Agba”, a special package of cash and food items given to the elderly introduced in November 2021.
Our administration also gave employment to over 100 persons as non-pensionable staffs and facilitated the employment of many others into various MDAs within and outside Lagos State.
WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
The importance of electricity cannot be undermined in advancing the economic potential of a community hence, I was resolute to solve the issues of electricity within our communities in Ikosi-Ejinrin, which made us procure five (500KVA) power transformers distributed to Temu, Agbowa, Onosa, Ketu and Itoikin communities respectively, whilst repairing that of Sekungba, Ado-Ikosi and ltoikin.
Importantly, we inherited a Secretariat, which was only running on a generator as there was no electricity for many years. We have restored electricity back to the Council as the Generator now serves as back-up, which it ought to be.
In each of the six wards, we sunk six new boreholes and repaired at least one, which was done by previous administrations.
IGR
In order to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of our LCDA, we constituted a team of seasoned professionals and handed them a revenue bus for effective and efficient discharge of their duties and this is already yielding good fruits for the LCDA.
SECURITY
For our people to go to sleep with their two eyes closed, we rebranded, employed more, trained and equipped GBALULE, our local security outfit of the LCDA with a new patrol van and other equipment needed by them.
COLLABORATION FOR DEVELOPMENT
We also made it a point of duty to network and collaborate with influential individuals as well as public and private bodies in order to get sponsorship of programmes and projects and this has significantly yielded positive results for the LCDA in terms of infrastructure.
Ikosi-Ejinrin is to play host to the Okobaba Sawmill and the recently announced NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, which is to be sited at Agbowa amongst others. As a responsible and responsive government, we are preparing the ground to comfortably accommodate all without putting too much stress on existing infrastructure hence the introduction of TWO STEPS AHEAD Initiative, which is our approach towards increasing infrastructure either through direct execution by the LCDA or Lagos State Government or through the Federal Government or Corporate bodies.
Through the initiative, we have had the construction of 120 open stalls at Itoikin Market, ongoing construction of 40 lock-up shops at the same Itoikin market (95% Completed), Ongoing construction of an international standard sport complex at Agbowa (90% completed), all facilitated through the distinguished House of Representatives Member, Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Tasir Wale Raji.

Ongoing construction of General Hospital at Itoikin Community while we continue to collaborate with Lagos State Public Works Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, on routine maintenance and palliative measures on other roads.
The above and many other things are what we have done in the last one year. Be rest assured that all these we have done are nothing yet, as we are resolute and committed to do more.
