In the Old Testament, the children of Israel needed to apply the blood upon their household.

God instructed Moses to command the Israelites to apply the blood of the slain animals on the lintel of their houses. 

The Angel of death from the bottom of hell will pass through Egypt and he will be looking for the sign of the blood.

Any household where the blood is seen will be spared of evil. 

The people did that and they were spared from death.

In the New Testament, we have a much better Blood. 

Thanks be to God! 

The blood of the very lamb of God slayed for us! 

While they had to physically apply the blood, we under the New Covenant apply the Blood by confessing the word of God.

 

The way to enjoy the benefits of the blood then was to apply it on the house, and the way to enjoy the benefits of the Blood now is to confess God’s promises with your mouth. 

Confessions that release the benefits of the Blood do not just have to be about the Blood, whenever you confess any of God’s promises, you are invoking the benefits of the Blood.

 

This is because the promises of the New Testament are activated on our behalf by the Blood of Jesus. 

He shed His Blood to make alive the New Testament deal. 

To the Father, every confession of our right brings alive to Him the Blood of his Son. 

Boldly confess the promises of God’s word. By that, you are invoking the benefits of the Blood.

[18] Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

That is why even the first covenant went into effect only with the use of blood.
