The leadership of Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) in Ondo State has met with the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Hon. Alhaji Takuro Amidu as part of its ongoing consultations with relevant stakeholders in a bid to scale up development of youth populace in Ondo State.

Hon. Takuro Amidu warmly received the delegation of NYC Ondo State, led by the Chairman, Comrade Adebayo Lawrence in his office yesterday.

Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Comrade Adebayo Lawrence commended the efforts of the Commissioner in delivering the mandate of his office for development of Local Government as well as the laudable innovations brought to Chieftancy Affairs in Ondo State as part of the visions of the State Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu.

The State Chairman further emphasized on the important roles of the youths in the society and also noted the need to integrate them into the mainstream of governance, policies and decision making process especially in the local government level and the state at large. He therefore urged the Commissioner to use his good office to ensure that viable policies are enacted to give the youths better place across the 18 local governments in the State.

In response, Hon. Takuro Amidu appreciated NYC Ondo State Chapter for the visit and particularly for being a strong voice for the Youths. He however promised that he will look into the demands and ensure that necessary steps are taken. He also promised a robust partnership with us towards the development of Nigerian Youth Congress in Ondo State as well as implementing some of the policies that will be of immense benefits to Ondo State Youths.

Comrade Adebayo Lawrence  however said that more engagements with relevant stakeholders will be carried out relentlessly in the interest of Ondo State youths.
