Early Life and Education

Barrister Sylvester Olumuyiwa Adu was born into the family of the late Adu Williams, the then Sao of Akure land, to Joseph O. Adu and his late mother, who hailed from Akure in Ondo State, Nigeria. He began his primary education at CAC Primary School Oke-Isegun and later completed it at St. Michael Catholic Primary School, both in Akure town. Adu also attended Anglican Grammar School Ijare (AGSI) in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Career

Despite securing university admissions, Adu opted for a military career after being admitted to the Nigerian Defence Academy, where he graduated with flying colors. His pursuit of excellence led him to transition into the Oil & Gas Industry in 1995 as a Security Consultant for TSKJ, a consortium of Technip of France, Strampogheti of Italy, Kellog of US, and JGC of Japan. TSKJ constructed the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas Plant in Bonny Island, Rivers State. After completing the project, Adu worked with two accounting firms before returning to full legal practice.

Adu holds a Doctor of Laws degree (LL.D) and is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan. He is a certified generic leader by Lagos Business School and an accredited Management Trainer by the Centre for Management Development. Adu served as the Managing Attorney of Legal Point Limited for several years before joining Nigeria LNG Limited as a direct employee, initially as a Gas Transmission System Advisor and later rising to the position of Lead Advisor.
