Aiyedatiwa’s Renewed Action and the Tinubu Vision: Ondo on the March to Global Competitiveness

Oriyomi O Oluseyi

In the past week, Ondo State has once again witnessed the renewed vibrancy of responsible governance under the able leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, a man whose silent revolution continues to redefine the meaning of progress in governance.

From October 20, 2025, Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated practical leadership across multiple fronts, ensuring that both workers and retirees in the state can now breathe a sigh of relief.

With the release of ₦2.396 billion to clear the 2016 and 2017 gratuity backlog, and his decisive intervention at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) to offset years of salary arrears, the Governor has once again proven that his administration stands for justice, fairness, and welfare of the people.

These bold steps are not mere policy gestures; they are evidence of empathy driven governance, a rare quality that continues to set Aiyedatiwa apart as a man of his word and a leader deeply connected to the realities of the people.

Beyond workers’ welfare, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s engagement with the British Deputy High Commissioner during the week marks another strategic move in attracting foreign investment into Ondo State.

His government’s commitment to the Ondo Diaspora Smart City initiative equally signals an intentional move to transform the state into a hub for innovation, trade, and modern infrastructure.

In the area of security, the Governor has sustained his synergy with security agencies, maintaining peace and order across all local government areas of the state.

The earlier provision of patrol vehicles and logistics to security operatives continues to yield results, ensuring Ondo remains one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria today.

These achievements underscore Governor Aiyedatiwa’s deep understanding that governance is not about noise, but about visible transformation that touches lives.

The Asiwaju Media Team, Ondo State, therefore commends the Governor for his consistency, humility, and commitment to continuity and development.

We also call on all political stakeholders, leaders, and supporters, whether victorious or otherwise, to close ranks and join hands with the Governor in the interest of progress.

Time comes and go, but the development of Ondo State must remain our collective priority.

We further extend our appreciation to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership and for deepening internal democracy within our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His fatherly guidance continues to inspire hope and discipline within the political space, while his infrastructural and economic focus on the Southwest region is opening a new chapter of prosperity.

The people of Ondo State eagerly await the visit of our President in early 2026, when he is expected to flag off the long dreamed Ondo Deep Seaport and the Ondo Refinery Project, monumental undertakings that will unlock the industrial destiny of our state, create jobs, and place Ondo on the global economic map.

Under the purposeful leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the national level and Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa at the state level, Ondo State is set to compete with the international community just like Dubai and the United Kingdom  in innovation, infrastructure, and economic prosperity.

This is the Renewed Hope Agenda in full motion, and Ondo State stands proudly at the frontline of Nigeria’s next success story.
