 'Tasks Citizenry to Actively Participate in Governance'. 

The Executive Chairman, Ikosi/Ejirin Local Government, Hon. (Akogun) Wale Raji Anomo has declared that 23 years of uninterrupted democratic rule in Nigeria has proven naysayers wrong, praising Nigerians for resolving to maintain democracy as the means of governance in the country.

The Honourable Chairman in a goodwill message enjoined Ikosi/Ejirin LCDA People and Nigerians at large to continue to play their roles in deepening democracy by actively participating in the electoral process and governance, which he noted has improved over the years. 

He added that democracy has come to stay in the country calling on the people to get more involved and remain steadfast as major stakeholders in the process of governance. 

The Council Boss expressed appreciation that Nigeria’s democratic maturity has shattered the myths about African democracy being under the grip of one single leader or political party.

Hon Akogun Wale Raji Anomo noted that as the largest country in Africa under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria will continue to hold the torch of nation-building, democratic pluralism and political stability in Africa and the world at large.

He emphasized that after 23  years of uninterrupted democracy, Nigeria’s democracy has come of age and has witnessed successful transitions of power from one administration to the next, and from one political party to another.

He congratulated Nigerians on the 2023 edition of Democracy Day and wishes them, a blissful celebration.
