The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, has officially resumed duties at the Commission’s Area Office in Igbokoda, reaffirming the purpose of the office as a crucial platform to ease administrative processes and bring governance closer to the people.
Speaking shortly after resuming, Poroye disclosed that the aim is to ensure greater accessibility and effective service delivery to the people. According to him, the presence of leadership is critical to driving development and ensuring that projects are properly supervised and monitored.
According to the OSOPADEC helmsman, the Area Office was established to ease administration and bring governance closer to the people of the mandate areas.
"I will continue to spend quality time here so that our people can reach us more easily than before.
"Most of the Commission’s projects require close monitoring, while our institution is being strengthened. Leadership availability is key to achieving these objectives, hence my determination to be here, listen to our people and attend to the yearnings of stakeholders.” He remarked.
Prince Poroye described his resumption as part of a broader determination of his administration, to identify with the grassroots and ensure that projects across OSOPADEC mandate areas receive due attention and the people's buy-in. He assured residents that the Commission, under his watch, remains fully committed to delivering on its mandate.
The OSOPADEC Boss further revealed that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa had issued a clear marching order from the outset of the administration, charging the Commission to hit the ground running with assurance to the people that the Commission is available to meet their expectations.
"The Governor’s directive is clear, and we are working tirelessly to live up to expectations,” he added.
Addressing staff of the Area Office, Poroye stressed the importance of professionalism, proactiveness, self-discipline and respect for constituted authorities.
He announced plans to introduce improved staff welfare packages and capacity-building programmes, with the Area office staff, teachers and health workers to be the first beneficiaries of training and workshops this year.
He also disclosed that electronic identity cards would be introduced for staff to enhance punctuality, regularity and operational efficiency.
During the visit, Poroye also met with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party Membership E-registration agents, led by Comrade Gbenga Ayemobuwa.
He commended the team for their commitment to the assignment and expressed the Commission’s readiness to support their welfare in ensuring the success of the exercise.
In attendance with the Chairman were Rev. Dr. Ola Judah, a Member of the OSOPADEC Board; Hon. Mrs. Toyin Agbeni-Ogungbure, former Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Council; Pst. Keneth; Ap. 'Sola Orisamoluwa, Director of Administration and Supplies; Engr. Dare Oretan, Area Office Manager; aides to the Chairman; and other top management staff.
